Fresh Octane for Brighton trainer Denise Fysh should get punters off to a flying start in the first of a strong ten event card at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart tonight.

This son of Pure Octane has only had the five starts winning at Dapto in mid June and at his first start in Tasmania ran a strong third here last week to smart pup Hellyeah Rocket.

With prepost favourite Blue Josephine likely to be scratched through injury, Medhurst pair Jack Pines and Regent Bonny look next best.

Matt Black’s (R4) first two starts for Richmond trainer Margaret Rossendell were very impressive, for a win and a second.

At his last start at Devonport this son of Black Enforcer was bumped from pillar to post and looks a great each way bet tonight albeit jumping from six.

Collyn Rocket and Where’s Primo will be his main opposition.

Brilliant bitch Ella Lucy (R8) looks very hard to beat after her brilliant front running victory over champion Damek on Monday night to make the Tasmanian Sprint Final.

Dropping in grade here her early speed should see her be an anchor in both Doubles and Quaddies.

Sultan’s Swing (R5) should bring up win number 25 here while Porticcio and Apparently So look a great quinella in R7.

Best Bets: R1 No 4 Fresh Octane, R5 No 5 Sultan’s Swing, R8 No 4 Ella Lucy.

Best E/W: R4 No 5 Matt Black, R6 No 5 Pretty In Blue, R7 No 2 Porticcio.
