Devonport is a track that operates with a lot of variance in overall times. When it’s racing fast, the times can appear a fair amount quicker than the same effort from last week. But when a runner records 25.12, the best time over the past three years, there is no doubting the speed of that greyhound.

Peco Can

Having burst on to the scene with six-straight wins in brilliant times, Peco Can quickly became one of the brightest stars in greyhound racing, not just in Tasmania, but the whole country. Almost a year ago to the day, she competed in a top-grade event in Devonport and bettered her amazing run of 25.23 from the start before.

Peco Can’s record stands at 26 wins from just 37 starts and her average starting price through those races is a mere $1.58. A highlight on her resume is a terrific second in the Group 1 Hobart Thousand back in 2018 along with a Laurels Final win on the track the same year. Her journey began two-years ago this month with her ability already well known going around a short priced favourite.
