Last week we saw the very smart two year old Offthetopofmyhead break the track record on debut rating 1:58.3 and doing it easily. The two heats of the Easter Cup went the way of Melolyn at good odds and the pride of the Derwent Valley in Resurgent Spirit. The final will be a great contest on Easter Sunday.

FREYDE (8) is a handy mare that had no luck last start. She has drawn inside the second row so will be relying on a bit of luck but if that comes will be thereabouts. JOAN GRANT (1) has the speed to hold up here so if gets a cheap run will take running down. EBABE (9) and MAVIS MERLE (10) are both capable of figuring in the finish with the right trips. KOOL MINTZ (11) has shown good improvement in a couple of recent trials so don’t be surprised if sneaks a place at odds. GRINABLE (3) got a well deserved win last start after some very unlucky runs. He draws to settle handy so is sure to be a danger. METRO DIGBY (12) is a talented type when right. He resumes from a break of a handy trial effort so has to be kept safe. THE BADLANDS (1) has drawn ok so can run a place at odds. XBOLT (5) has had a little freshen up after a good win. He does like to race on the speed so if settles handy will be thereabouts. JUST LIKE ELLE (6) , UNION FORCE (7) and BERTILS DELIGHT (11) have all been thereabouts of late so can sneak a minor placing with the right trip.

She draws to push forward early so she should be able to find the top and as long as she can run the trip is clearly the hardest to beat. CHICA BELLA (6) is the star local who just keeps stepping up to every task put in front of her. She will have to take another step again from the wide draw but she is a winner and looks the obvious danger. GINA GRACE (7) is another very handy filly who comes of an easy win last week. She has matched with some of the best in NSW so has to be kept very safe. FLESHING (5) is a handy Victorian filly but is a rung below the likely favourite so place look’s best.
