SPREYTON trainer Leanne Gaffney will saddle up three on her home track today and she expects them all to figure in the finish.
Her highly promising three-year-old filly Toughtee will contest the class one handicap (race 5) over 1175 metres in which Gaffney expects her to win.
The filly scored an impressive win two starts back and at her subsequent outing in the 3YO Cup she finished down the track after having a torrid run from a bad gate.
Her other three-year-old Dat’s Mel will tackle the 3YO Maiden (race 3) and while she is drawn wide Gaffney says the filly has benefitted from her first-up second and should be hard to beat.
The Hornet closes Gaffney’s card for the day in race six and this mare has very modest form but the trainer is upbeat about her chances to break back into the winner’s circle at her third run back from a spell.
