BRIGHTON trainer John Luttrell has enjoyed the ride of a lifetime with his stable star Geegees Blackflash but at The TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston today the astute mentor described Gee Gee Black Fury as “The Flash’s” successor.
Gee Gee Black Fury (Clangalang-Maybe an Angel) scored an emphatic win in a benchmark 62 handicap over 1600 metres which is a far cry from the quality of races won by Geegees Blackflash.
But Luttrell was adamant that the “Black Fury” had what it takes to go all the way next season.
Gee Gee Black Fury won a race in Hobart first-up from a spell and was then a luckless fifth at his subsequent outing but at his start prior to winning today he put in a shocker that had Luttrell confused.
Listen to what trainer John Luttrell had to say about Gee Gee Black Fury’s latest win.
