The annual Greyhounds on the Move southern walk will be held in Hobart tomorrow (8 November).
Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) Tasmania coordinator Susan Gittus said the walking event provided an opportunity to find out more about the GAP and the greyhounds themselves.
“It is also an opportunity to meet face-to-face with previously adopted and fostered greyhounds and their owners / careers,” she said.
Please meet for the walk at Wentworth Park (Salacia Ave entrance) at 11am, Saturday 8 November. The walk will leave at about 11.15am.
(GAP) Tasmania, supported by Tasracing, is a national initiative to identify permanent pet homes for greyhounds after retiring from their racing career.
In addition to finding homes for these animals, GAP’s aim is to educate the community on what a gentle and affectionate pet greyhounds really are.
Ms Gittus said greyhounds were more likely to lay around in the sun than run around all day.
