TOP Southern based harness racing trainer Adrian Duggan believes one of the latest additions to his Brighton stable Grinable has the potential to pick up a minor feature race later this year.

Grinable (Grinfromeartoear-Able Reason) arrived at Duggan’s stable in mid August and has since won three of his six starts in Tasmania.

His most impressive win was at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart last Sunday night where he defied facing the breeze for most of the race to hold out all challengers in a strong 3C0-C0 combined pace over 1609 metres.

The three-year-old gelding hit the line a half-metre clear of Rykov leis with race leader Mister Ryanjack just over a metre away third.

Grinable was bred in New Zealand but began his racing career in Victoria where he faced the starter only five times with a second at Geelong his best result and that was just prior to making the trip across Bass Strait to Tasmania.

He placed third at his first two starts for Duggan before winning two in succession on the Hobart track.

Prior to last Sunday’s outstanding win he was fourth in a C0 in Launceston behind Tessanzo when held up three-back the fence and went to the line under a hold.
