Easter Purse winner Grouse continued his liking with the spacious Hobart circuit when he motored to another comfortable victory for Moorleah trainer Russell Watts last night.

This son of Premier Fantasy brought up win number four from seven starts and his hatrick at Hobart.

Boxing well from the pink he gained a share of the lead with Buckle Up Kida at the first split (5.14) and then began to assert his authority recording 11.21 through the second split before stopping the clock at 26.05 winning by 3 ½ from Buckle Up Kida and another further 2 ½ lengths away third Halo Lee.

With plenty of grades up North to win he should be followed with confidence over the coming months.

Gayelene Townsend’s pup Bounding Boomer was the first to race into the HGRC Maiden Series Final with a hard fought victory out wide heading leader Vee’s Assassin on the line. This son of Head Bound has had eleven starts and notched his first official win running a pb of 26.68. Litter sister Classic Boomer made it a double for Townsend when she raced to a three-length victory to record 26.48 and hopefully put paid to a month of unlucky runs.

Bold Dancer lived up to his billing of Best Bet on the program when he and sprinter Posh Fire staged a great battle over the 599m. Bold Dancer asserted his superiority over the last fifty metres to win by 1 ¼ in a quick 34.40 and trainer Rod Walker would be delighted that his charge is back in form after some unlucky runs over the middle distance on the Northern tracks.
