Hannah Boden (R5) should be one of the leaders early and could be hard to catch at tonight’s Launceston meeting at the Tote Racing Centre.
Trained at Ranelagh by Gayelene Townsend this well bred daughter of Cosmic Chief s yet to win on this circuit but is enjoying the u turn tracks by winning three of her last four starts. This grade 4 field is strong but if she can lead she will represent great each way value. Heliski is drawn well and could surprise at odds while Oscar Ralph will run his usual honest race.
Real Caution (R7) is not opposed to Hellyeah Bolt tonight and going on last week’s run should return to the winner’s list. This son of Dyna Lachlan ran Hellyeah Bolt to a length last week in a good 30.07 and a similar run tonight jumping from box three will see him very competitive. He has won nine from twenty three and with nine placings he has been a model of consistency. Proven Fantasy has drawn his box while That was Then should settle close to the lead and be the hardest to beat.
Varcoe (R9) looks a class above this grade 4 field having won the Group 2 Launceston Cup back in February at his last start on the track, this Debbie Cannan trained chaser should relish the inside and should have the speed to lead. If this son of El Galo does find the lead he should be too strong and race his way back to form after finding trouble in his last three starts.
