Curragh courtesy of the inside draw will start favourite for Amanda Grice, her gutsy win in the heat was only her second look at the track and she will benefit from the run. Rory Mac for Ricky Ponting and Sonia Martin will hard to hold out if he jumps like he did at Devonport three starts ago winning the Country Derby. Lorus Time is going to be a high class pup having won two from two here while Posh Fire who has no luck with box draws in big races will have his fair share of support after his front running display of 29.47 in the Heat. With a more favourable draw he would start odds on.
Miss Stylist (R1) should get punters off on the right foot. Trained at Mangalore by Ted Medhurst this daughter of Barcia Bale has won her last four and jumping from the check should keep the wins ticking over. Kennelmate Retail Chart and Kundabung Kid who won well Thursday night look great options for the trifecta.
Antwerpen (R2) for Moorleah trainer Russell Watts should break his maiden status jumping from the inside draw. Owned by daughter Anita this lightly raced pup has been knocking on the door at his last two behind Hattie Bee and Alisha Rose and both of those would be very short in this race. Hardest to beat will be the consistent Carrick Marlow and Louis Smith.
