Odds on favourite Hellyeah Bolt named after the fastest man in the world Usain put the 2013 Betfair Breeder’s Classic trophy beyond doubt turning for home, sprinting clear of the field to win by 8 ½ lengths. Owned by the Hellyeah Syndicate and trained by Anthony Bullock at Exeter this Dyna Lachlan pup looks to have a bright future. The Manager of the Syndicate Rick Donaldson thanked “Anthony and partner Mary Walker for their love and devotion they have shown to a lot of his slower pups over the years and it is nice to finally give him a pup to train that looks like the real deal’ Off the mat the field came away as one and while there was a chance that Bolt would get checked as there was plenty of crowding early, he managed to work his way to third at the 22 pole. Moonbreaker made it to the lead with the pink runner Buckle Up Louis positioned alongside as they broke the first split beam in 5.17. As they went past the 340m boxes Hellyeah Bolt checked off the heels of Moonbreaker (11.32) costing him a length at least but still held third. As they rounded the bend Moonbreaker drifted off the rail and Bolt took the opportunity and zoomed past both leaders to take up the running. Once in the straight he really opened up much to the delight of the connections to win easily. Buckle Up Louis managed to grab second with Moonbreaker holding on to third. As terrific a run the winner, both placegetters should be followed with confidence as they mature. Hellyeah Bolt was undefeated throughout the series winning his heat in 25.95, semi in 25.75 and the Final in 26.03. Hellyeah Bolt’s next mission is the J G Nelson Cup at Launceston over the next fortnight with the Young Stars and St Leger next on the list of Classics in the spring.
