The Hellyeah syndicate started when five employees of the old Hellyer mine got together and decided to dabble in greyhound ownership when they bred their first litter in 2002 and had their first winner in 2004, the rest as they say is history. Now prolific owners and very much part of the Tasmanian greyhound breeding industry, Manager of the Syndicate Somerset’s Rick Donaldson was delighted that four of their Dyna Lachlan – Flash Diamond litter have made the prestigious Betfair Breeder’s Classic final. All seven of the litter made the series, Hellyeah Razor missed the semis while Hellyeah Tangles ran last and Hellyeah Fiona missed making the Final by a half head running third and is currently first reserve.

Hellyeah Bolt is arguably the fastest dog they have bred but his three early starts didn’t reflect his sensational trial form. However he looks like he is learning fast and in his heat last Saturday he ran the quickest of the day 25.95 and then came out and went within .04 of Bergermeister’s track record of 25.71. Having drawn the squeeze box four in the Final, which is obviously not ideal, he will still start a warm favourite thanks to his ability to quickly muster speed from the traps. Hellyeah Missile (26.13) won his semi convincingly over his sister Hellyeah Flicka (26.46) by 5 ¼ lengths and will be the hardest to beat from box 3. Hellyeah Jetta (26.44) qualified by running second to the experienced Moonbreaker. All of the litter is trained by Anthony Bullock at Exeter.
