Dolly’s Dream looks poised to continue her terrific recent form when she takes her place from box one in race three in Hobart tonight over 340 metres.
A stylish winner in Devonport last Tuesday in 25.86, Dolly’s Dream, a daughter of Cosmic Chief, makes her Hobart debut tonight where she’s quoted a red hot $1.30 favourite with Ladbrokes.
And that short quote is hardly surprising, given Dolly’s Dream has recorded two wins and two seconds from her four most recent appearances for Invermay trainer Chris Hepburn.
Considered Dolly’s Dream’s main danger for tonight’s assignment is the Leon Brazendale-trained Has The Power, the daughter of Fernando Bale quoted $4.80 in early markets from her box five draw.
A winner at Bendigo and Ballarat last November before making her way over to Brazendale’s Tassie kennels, Has The Power caught the eye finishing second in two of her local appearances and is expected to give a good account of herself tonight.
Brazendale is represented by four runners at tonight’s Hobart card, beginning with Blue Twist in the opening event from box one.
Currently a $6.50 chance, Blue Twist has placed at four of her 10 runs at the track and distance and with the aid of box one tonight is expected to produce a forward showing.
With Hobart filling in for Launceston’s usual Monday night slot, Ted Medhurst looks set to play a strong hand in proceedings, spearheaded by Connected in race seven over the 461 metres.
Third in last Monday’s Group 2 Launceston Cup Final behind Caishen, the son of Fernando Bale is $2.05 in betting, just ahead of kennelmate Fabulous Baroque at $3.00.
The two are expected to fight the race out.
In race eight, Medhurst takes a three pronged attack into the 461 metre affair, with Mr. Camacho (5 – $2.90), Stay Baroque (6 – $3.20) and Blue Bentley (8 – $3.30) each considered winning chances.
