HEATS of the Easter Purse for juvenile greyhounds is one of the features on the 10-event program at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart tonight.

In the opening Easter Purse heat (Race 2) over 461 metres Straight Arrow (R2) for Leith trainer Gary Johnson deserves to break through after several consistent performances in better company.

The son of Swift Fancy has been placed at his last six outings including three on the spacious Hobart circuit and wearing the black vest will also enhance his chances.

Chin Check and Winklea Vestie look the likely dangers.

Hey Franklin jumps from an ideal draw (8) in the second heat (Race 4) and he is fresh from his scintillating effort to win the Breeders Classic final in Launceston on Monday night.

Andariel (6) looks a great quinella option while Bring Sexy Back (2) could be one at odds for the trifecta.

Easter falls awkwardly for the Hobart Club’s Easter series this year with the juvenile division (Purse) needed to be completed before the end of March which is why the Purse (juvenile) heats are being staged a week earlier than the Easter Plate (Grades 4-5) and Ester Cup (Grades 1-3).

Bain’s Lane is a powerful sprinter from the Brendan Pursell kennel and he should bullock his way to the lead early from box four in the Invitation event over 461 metres (Race 7).

His second to Senor Slamma last week was full of merit and he should go one better tonight. Star Chamber (7) and Frytson (1) look hardest to beat.

Best Bets: R2 No 7 Straight Arrow, R4 No 8 Hey Franklin, R7 No 4 Bain’s Lane.
Best E/W: R1 No 1 Kiruna, R6 No 7 Closed Circuit, R9 No 2 Buckle Up Barney.
