CLASSY bitch High Choice notched one of her best wins when she powered home to take out the 2010 Big Moose Damsel’s Dash over 461 metres at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart last night.
High Choice began well from box eight to settle third behind Zamira that flew the lids fro-m box one.
Zamira held a commanding lead turning for home but when High Choice put in the big strides she quickly gained the upper hand and went on to score by almost three lengths from Posh Di with Zamira two lengths astern.
It was the bitch’s first win of the year but it almost certainly won’t be her last.
High Choice has won 15 and been placed 19 times fro 56 starts for just over $30,000 in stakes.
The winner of the Damsel’s Dash also won for her owners a contract for a free service from Big Moose that recently retired to stud.
Big Moose was retired to stud after breaking down in a race in Hobart in November last year.
Big Moose ended his carer with 50 wins and 21 minor placings from 87 starts with his biggest wins coming ion the 2009 Launceston Cup, 2008 Devonport Cup and the Breeders Classic in Launceston.
He also was a finalist in the Group 1 Australian Cup.
Big Moose stands at stud for $800.
