LIGHTLY raced three-year-old My Christian Fella gave his rivals a pacing lesson at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart on Monday night leading all the way to take out the Sandra Hills Stakes over 1609 metres.
With his trainer Rohan Hillier in the sulky, My Christian Fella began brilliantly from the pole position and after a stoush for the lead with Merlin Of Camelot he steadied and was never headed on his way to a convincing win over No Logic and Merlin Of Camelot.
The Christian Cullen-Talk To Me gelding has been sparingly raced since arriving in Hillier’s stable but what he has shown to date suggests he may have a bright future.
My Christian Fella was originally prepared in Victoria by Gavin Lang where he raced as a two-year-old until he went sore and was tipped out for a six-month spell.
He has had eight starts this season for three impressive wins and four minor placings.
Hillier is hoping to run the gelding in a Tasmanian heat of the Breeders Crown after which he will assess his immediate future.
