THE three week Vet’s Series Medley series begins tonight at Tattersall’s Park with heats over the middle distance.

Form runners Common Interest and Hellyeah Benny look hard to beat in the first heat (R2).

Common Interest led everywhere but on the line a fortnight ago here over this trip setting up a big lead with blistering early pace.

At her last start this daughter of Pure Octane beat a strong field over the sprint at Devonport. Hellyeah Benny also has his confidence soaring with two wins at Launceston at the last two meetings, including a strong 5 length front running victory over 600m.

Weegie may be running into form again after a solid second at Launceston Monday night and should be followed for his next few starts.

Rotation and Oskarama (R3) are the only greyhounds to win here over the 599 trip in Heat Two and both have sound credentials again.

Fire King is the interesting runner having had strong wins over the 520m at Wentworth Park it appears he is capable of running the distance and although untried should be kept safe.

Stylish Moon (R4) for Launceston trainer Robert Grubb and Indecision for Burnie trainer Sandy Elphinstone should fight for top points in Heat Three, while Gun Burner and Big Jack Sparrow should be hard to beat in Heat Four (R5).

Pure Tiger (R7) should be hard to beat from an ideal box in the last heat for Richmond’s Nick Howard.

Best Bets: R2 # 1 Jeannie’s Gift, R7 # 5 Decembrist, R8 # 2 Pure Tiger.

Best E/W: R3 # 1 Weegie, R5 # 3 Indecision, R10 # 2 Cool Avenger.
