ELLA Lucy (R6) for Penguin trainer Butch Deverell is prepost favourite to win tonight’s Betfair Breeder’s Classic Final at Tattersall’s Park.
This daughter of Bond from champion bitch Copper Delight sailed into the Final last week beating Botox by 7 ½ lengths in the quickest time of 26.22.
Having had nineteen starts for four wins and six placings she has won her last three and although jumping from the blue she is capable of finding the front and will be very hard to run down.
Mr Issues bred by resident bookmaker Barry Heawood and trained by Leith’s Gary Johnson looks the next best if he can find some galloping room early while Dilston Dreams won well in her semi and if she jumps will be in the money.
Sultan’s Swing (R7) for Debbie Cannan had a brilliant all the way win in last week’s Invitation after Eagle Eye dwelt at the start when punters expected him to jump and cut left.
Tonight this daughter of Big Daddy Cool again has to contend with Eagle Eye on her outside and again she should be at each way odds.
Eagle Eye jumped brilliantly at Launceston on Monday night and if he can do it again he will be in the lead and hard to run down.
Talented speedster High Choice is clearly the class greyhound and deserves a change of luck early. Cracker Boy (R4) for Whitemore trainer Leigh Wood will be looking for two in a week after an all the way victory on Monday night while Daegan looks a special for Invermay trainer Eileen Thomas in the last.
Best Bets: R4 # 1 Cracker Boy, R6 # 4 Ella Lucy, R10 # 1 Daegan.
Best E/W: R7 # 2 High Choice, R8 # 3 Blue Buddy, R9 # 4 Hunter.
