TRACK record holder Damek and classy bitch Sultan’s Swing go head to head tonight at Tattersall’s Park in what should be a great match race.
Damek (R7) ran 25.85 here at his last run a fortnight ago and now holds two track records having recorded 29.40 at Launceston in April.
This son of Big Daddy Cool is Tassie’s best chance of a Group One victory in the Hobart Thousand in December and is currently quoted prepost at $1.60.
Sultan’s Swing has won three of her last four and twelve overall here and should fly the lids early.
Damek is certainly faster and should take his win tally to nineteen.
The $10,000 Minister’s Gift Final precedes the match race and this will be a hotly contested affair.
Damek’s brother Daegan has done everything right lately and because of his good manners looks the one to beat.
Penguin trained Ella Lucy should run well and is looking for a hat trick while Samurai Kid has a big motor but can get back in his races however he will be running home powerfully.
Raw Emotion (R3) and Dang Shen (R8) should both run well.
Best Bets: R5 No 4 Daegan R6 No 3 Damek, R10 No 3 Fran Lee.
Best E/W: R3 No 3 Raw Emotion, R5 No 1 Hunter, R9 No 7 Lowanna Lad.
