THIRTEEN Black looks well placed to win the mid distance race on a strong eleven event card at Tatersall’s Park tonight.

Trained at Whitmore by Leigh Wood this son of Bond has been in the money in 28 of his 34 starts and at Hobart has never been out of a place in 11.

Wood said he will be off to the mainland shortly for a few distance starts between now and the National Distance in August to get some miles in his legs.

His main opposition tonight will come from Whispering Blaze and Stylish Moon. Topline Doovee is back again this week in the Invitation after finishing second to Graeme Moate’s Ronray Dancer last week.

Box seven should allow her to settle in a good position and she will be hard to hold in the run to the line.

Her opposition will likely come from Regent Typhoon and Eagle Eye however punters should almost take the field in the multiples, as all are very capable pups.

Painted Matty (R7) should dominate this grade 5 race with Invitation class wins up North this Closing Argument pup strung together six wins before his last two at Devonport.

Hunter and Hudson should be kept safe while Gunnadoo Swift looked impressive winning at Launceston Monday.

Best Bets: R4 # 6 Thirteen Black, R8 # 3 Fire King, R11 # 8 Capetown Gem.

Best E/W: R1 # 6 Fox Farm, R2 # 4 She Chew Shoes, R3 # 3 Prince Mattan.
