Tasracing and representatives from the Tasmanian Racing Club, stewards, jockeys and trainers inspected the course proper at Tattersall’s Park today, giving the track the “all clear” for the Hobart Guineas on Sunday.
Tasracing acting CEO Eliot Forbes said the representatives walked the track today.
“The track is in good condition for the first day of the Tasmanian Summer Racing Carnival,” he said.
“The race has attracted five interstate horses for the $90,000 listed race – Caravaggio, Jarss Act, Zuma Roc, French Tang and Strato Mostro.
“Outside of the regular Victorian riders who travel to Tasmania, this Sunday’s meeting will also feature a number of other top flight jockeys including Dwayne Dunn, Craig Newitt, Peter Mertens, Ben Melham, Michelle Payne, Daniel Ganderton, Andrew Mallyon and Brent Evans.
“Tasracing is obviously very pleased that the first day of the carnival has attracted this calibre of horses and jockeys and we look forward to an excellent day of racing.”
