THE harness meeting at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart tonight has been postponed to a date to be fixed.

Stewards were contacted by track staff early this afternoon requesting a track inspection owing to the amount of rain that had fallen on the track kin the previous 24 hours.

Chief harness steward Shane Larkins said the inspection revealed the track to be in an unsafe condition to race.

“The main concern was the track condition but we had no option but to postpone the meeting owing to that and the forecast which was for continued steady rain,” Larkins said.

Stewards walked and inspected the track with Tasmanian pacing Club CEO John Devereux and Tasracing’s track supervisor Bob Becker, who was the one to raise the alarm about 2pm.

The TPC is hoping to run the meeting on Wednesday night with either Sky 1 or Sky 2 coverage.
