STAR Tasmanian two-year-old filly Hot Dipped who kept her unbeaten record intact when she scored an effortless win in the $100,000 Listed Gold Sovereign Stakes last week will travel interstate next week to tackle the $220,000 Group 2 Sires Produce Stakes at Flemington on Saturday week.

The filly’s trainer Brendan McShane said the filly pulled up well from her Gold Sovereign win that could not have been more impressive.

Hot Dipped cruised to the leaders in the Gold Sovereign and when rider Bulent Muhcu gave her a bit more rein she sped clear and the rider arrogantly patted the filly on the neck a few times as he let her cruise to the line a comfortable winner.

“I guess it was an arrogant win because she did it without having to be fully extended,” McShane said.

“The plan is to take her to Melbourne with the view of running her in the Sires Produce Stakes over 1400 metres at Flemington on Saturday week.

“We have a back-up plan and that is a Listed race at Moonee Valley the following Friday but that’s just in case she needs extra time to get over the trip.

“But who knows, maybe she will handle the trip like a seasoned professional.

“There also is a chance that she might not even race over there. We might end up using it merely as a travelling experience.

“Either way it will be good for the filly because she is going to have go get used to travelling if she is to reach the lofty heights that some of the more astute judges believe she will,” he said.
