TALENTED two-year-old filly Geegees Hot Hussie ended her season on a high with an emphatic win in the Ms Janice Nixon 2YO Handicap over 1100 metres on the Derwent (inside grass) track at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart today.

With David Pires in the saddle, Geegees Hot Hussie settled third and travelled well to the home turn where Pires called on his charge for the big effort.

The John Luttrell-trained filly collared the leaders and went on to score by over a length from the David and Scott Brunton-trained pair of Perplexing and Niloufar that came from last 400 metres out.

It was Geegees Hot Hussie’s third win for the season having been successful twice in Launceston.

Geegees Hot Hussie is by first season sire Wordsmith that has so far produced five individual winners that have collectively won eight races that places Wordsmith in the top 10 on the first season sires lists.

His five individual winners places him fifth on the individual winner list and 10th on stake money won which is an amazing feat given he only sired mares owned by his owners Paul and Elizabeth Geard.
