Richmond trainer Len Howard will be hoping for success in Launceston on Monday Night when Hello lines up from box three in the LGRC Tasbred Maiden Series Final over 515 metres.
Breaking its maiden status after 10 career attempts in the heats last week, Hello justified her solid support from box seven when settling in fifth spot down the back behind Maddie’s Help, before swooping around the field by the home corner and running out a 1-1/2 length winner in 30.36sec.
Whelped in April 2019, Hello is by Barcia Bale out of Apache Dream, a tenacious bitch who raced on 55 occasions for 14 wins and 22 minor placings, including feature race success in the 2017 Easter Purse Final in Hobart.
Len’s son Nick Howard trained the daughter of Premier Boloney x Silent Girl for her entire career and also bred her first litter of seven pups by Barcia Bale which includes noted winners Don’t Start Now, Broken Arrows and Glover.
Since 2006 Len Howard has prepared over 89 winners in Launceston that have raced 620 times.
Moving from a wide draw to box 3 in the $6,230 Tasbred Maiden Final bookmarkers have set Hello as the $2 favourite.
Full Strength, for Dysart owner/trainer Wayne Howells, claimed the second and final heat last week at double figure odds when careering away to an almost six-length win from Buckle Up Joromi in 30.70sec from box 4.
The son of Magic Sprite is rated a $13 chance along with Nitro Joe and will exit from box 8 in the maiden final.
Katrina Gregory prepares Locknane Fee who will exit box 1 as the second favourite in the betting at $4.20.
The Winner of the Tasbred Maiden Final will join Sunnyside Up (2018) and Honey Soy (2019) as recent additions to the honour roll.
The LGRC Tasbred Maiden Series Final is race 6 on the 10-race program and is scheduled to jump at 21:13.
Monday night’s Launceston greyhound meeting will commence at 19.32 will all 10 races broadcast on Sky Racing 1 and TasracingTV.
