PROMINENT harness racing breeders Lyndon and Gail Menegon from Big Park Stud will be hoping their recent success with a galloper Smoke ‘N’ Whisky will carry over to a horse they bred that has been chasing his first win this season in Launceston tonight.
Isundula Artist (Tiz A Masterpiece-For My Mum Maggie) will line up in the opening race on the eight-event card at The TOTE Racing Centre tonight (6.52pm) in what appears to be a winnable race for the Barrie Rattray-trained three-year-old gelding.
Starting from barrier three with Todd Rattray in the sulky the gelding gets his chance to return to the winner’s circle if he can find the early lead.
The gelding won his only race almost a year ago in a 2YO event in Hobart in which he showed good gate speed from the pole position to lead and was never headed.
Tonight he gets the chance to repeat that effort and only needs to take some of his recent form into the event to emerge triumphant.
His main dangers are pole marker Barooga Minnie along with Cemento Rapido (2) and Acey Boy (9).
