Racing is in the blood of Adrian Collins, immersing himself in the industry across the two equine codes as a hobby driver and barrier attendant.
“As a child my parents demanded I go and get a real job and my reply to that was horses are my life,” says Adrian Collins who also maintains a full-time job outside of racing.
Whether Collins is active in a race as a driver or loading the gallopers into the barriers before a race, it’s his love for the animal that is his inspiration.
“The animal, you can be having a down day and simply spend two minutes with a horse, and it can lift you back up again.”
Collins travels far and wide to attend the races, including King Island where he has won the last two King Island Pacing Cups.
“The friendships and bonds I’ve made on King Island are lifelong and I’m just so grateful for them.
