TALENTED greyhound bitch Keune returned to her brilliant best with an emphatic win in the George and Eileen Johnson Puppy Championship final at Devonport today.
Keune began brilliantly from box seven to find the lead and once on the lure she maintained a length margin over the favourite Wynburn Arrow (8) and went on to easily defeat that dog with Hello Nancy running on well to grab third ahead of Joker Jones.
The Ted Medhurst-trained bitch showed enormous potential when she first hit the tracks but after she fell at Devonport earlier this year she has been a touch field-shy and that has prevented her from realising her full potential.
But this latest win should bolster her confidence and if that is the case this daughter of Barcia Bale-Miss Roman Nose has the ability to be one of Tasmania’s best sprinters.
Wynburn Arrow was again courageous in her endeavour while Joker Jones again missed the start and that trait is going to continue to cost him as he makes his way through the grades.
Hello Nancy ran n well and Keune’s kennel mate Local View, that was well backed, lost his chance at the start when the dog on his inside turned him sideways at the start.
