TRAINER George Blacker is predicting a bright future for his four-year-old gelding Ladali following his impressive debut win over 1100 metres at Tattersall’s Park Elwick last Sunday.

Ladali (Ladoni-Ali’s Blessing) raced outside of the leader Astraphobic for most of the race but defied the tough run to forge clear over the concluding stages.

The gelding hit the line almost a length clear of the $2.70 favourite Astraphobic with the fast-finishing Hot Sybil only a head astern.

Blacker was confident before the race that the horse would perform well and he was ecstatic with the end result.

Ladali was backed late in betting and paid $14.10 for the win and $3.30 the place.

Blacker trained Ladali’s dam Ali’s Blessing that won numerous races up to 2000m.

The gelding is owned by the trainer and his wife Marlene Blacker in partnership with long time friend and stable client Brian Crooks.
