STAR Tasmanian mare Lady Lynette produced her best effort this preparation with a brilliant win in the $200,000 Group 2 Blazer Stakes over 1400 metres at Flemington today.

Lady Lynette drew a wide barrier but talented rider Nicholas Hall was able to fire her from the gates and have her positioned fourth in the one-out position after travelling 400 metres.

The talented David and Scott Brunton-trained mare was eased out three-wide to challenge at the top of the straight and once she moved alongside Dysphonia she cruised to the lead and went on to defeat Booklet with Dysphonia a close-up third.

It was the mare’s fourth run this preparation and clearly her best.

Lady Lynette won last year’s mare’s feature double in Tasmania the Bow Mistress and the Vamos Stakes and it was her second Vamos triumph.

It was her first win from 10 starts at Flemington but most have been in top grade.

The win took her career record to 13 wins from 42 starts for $980,000 in stakes.

If she is minor placed at her next start at Group level she will top the magical million dollar mark which will be an amazing feat for a mare that has been primarily trained in Tasmania.
