Top Tasmanian greyhound trainer Ted Medhurst snared three of the first four winners on the 11-event card at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart last night.
His first-starters Demi Cali and Mandy Charm were impressive but there also was a lot to like about the performance of Lillycette that was having her first start in the state.
Lillycette led all the way to win a grade five by almost four lengths from Topline Tornado that headed Medhurst’s bitch by a half-length turning for home.
But the daughter of Velocette-Come Over Nova dug deep when headed and forged her way clear on straightening.
Lillycette was having her first start in the state.
The speedy bitch, owned by Lee Tindall, won at her first two starts at The Meadows in February-March after which her form waned.
She was despatched to Medhurst’s kennel after two near last performances at The Meadows in May .
At her first try on the Hobart circuit she clocked 26.40 so with natural improvement there should be more wins in store.
