Monday’s Tasmanian Magic Millions Yearling sale at the Inveresk sales complex in Launceston boasts arguably the best draft ever seen at a Tasmanian sale.

A number of first season sires are represented including the ill-fated Lionhearted that served only one season at Grenville Stud at Whitemore.

Grenville’s studmaster, Graeme McCulloch, believes the stallion’s progeny will attract spirited bidding once they stroll into the sale ring.

“I’m sure buyers will be suitably impressed with Lionhearted’s progeny as they are outstanding types,” McCulloch said.

The sale comprises of 17 of Lionhearted’s progeny and three standouts from Whitemore’s draft could make top money.

Lot 39 Lionhearted – Natural Swinger.

This colt is out of the Viking Ruler mare Natural Swinger who is a half-sister to the stakes winning La Italia. He is an imposing colt with a great walk. His half-brother by Brazen Beau made $190k in Adelaide last year and this colt has every bit as much quality.

Lot 139 Lionhearted – Endless Obsession.

He is a strong colt with a very athletic alk. He is from the Flying Spur mare Endless Obsession who is a half sister to the stakes placed Ohceedee and from the family of Assertive Lad and Assertive Lass.

Lot 143 Lionhearted – Feisty Rose.

This colt is a powerful colt with a big hind quarter and a great attitude and he looks like he will be an early 2YO. His half sister Maid of Ore is a recent Sydney city winner and has won 7 races from just 13 starts and looks to be a top class galloper.

McCulloch says there has been a lot of interest in Lionhearted’s progeny during  inspections with buyers very impressed with how he has stamped his progeny.

“Loinhearted was a precocious 2YO running second in the Gr. 2 Skyline Stakes at just his second start and I am sure his progeny will be early 2YO’s and will be ideal horses for the TasBred bonuses on the 2YO races next season.”

Inspections of all the yearlings are available Friday and all weekend at the Inveresk Sales Complex Launceston.
