WHITEMORE greyhound trainer Leigh Wood is no stranger to winning feature races and in Launceston tonight he should play a major role in the outcome of the Launceston Saloon Bar Gold Collar final over 515 metres.

Leigh has litter sisters Ren Shen and Dang Shen in the final, although they have drawn awkwardly in boxes seven and eight respectively.

They each won a heat last Monday night and recorded almost identical times with Dang Shen clocking 30.16s and Ren Shen 30.17.

The sisters are owned by Rob English who has enjoyed his share of success over the years.

The main dangers to Wood’s pair are the Gary Johnson-trained Mr. Issues; I’m A Fencer from the David Crosswell kennel with the Barry Adams-trained pair Adams Cool (box 1) and Adams Magic (2) drawn to be winning chances.

The Gold Collar final is race six on the 10-event card and is scheduled to start at 9.22pm.
