CONSISTENT greyhound sprinter Lorus Time delivered a career-best effort to win the second division of the Tasracing.com.au Stakes over 461 metres at UBET Park Hobart last night.
Lorus Time began well in the grade four event to share the lead to the top turn with Simply Spoilt with Alaskan Passage camped on their heels having crossed to the rail from box eight.
But when they straightened for the run home Lorus Time slipped into overdrive and left his rivals in his way.
The Ted Medhurst-trained dog hit the line seven lengths clear of Global Lad who ran home well along the rails with Mr Patong plugging away to grab third ahead of Alaskan passage.
Lorus Time recorded a personal best time of 26 seconds which shaved .13 off his previous best (26.13) that he set twice of which the latest was in October last year.
Lorus Time took his career win tally to 16 of which four have been on the Hobart circuit.
He also has accrued 14 minor placings that have helped take his career earnings to $35,400.
