Moonah trainer Loretta Luttrell was all smiles when her young pup Silent Giggle won brilliantly for owner Leonard Harley last night.

Beginning well from the pink she stayed out of trouble on the first turn to track wide and sit outside of early pacemaker and favourite Josh Pines, with the Medhurst runner setting splits of 5.25, 12.55 and 18.85.

The two had the race between them a long way out with Josh Pines opening up a nice lead, however in the run to the line he seemed to tire very quickly and finished unplaced.

Silent Giggle took full advantage to fly past and win by 4 1/2 from Midnightjhono, who ran a solid race and definitely looks a stayer in the making, while a blanket could have been thrown over the rest of the field with Wynburn Whirl collecting the minor share of the prize a further 3 1/4 lengths further back.

That was her first win and trivially she has now run a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th at Hobart in her last five starts and but does look to be getting stronger with every run.
