Longford trainer Peter Luttrell will take six of his stable tenants to the races in Launceston on Friday night and all appear to have good winning chances.

Luttrell begins the night with his under rated miler Fagin’s Touch that comes off an eye-catching fourth in Launceston three weeks ago that was his first start since placing in a race in Launceston the night before the industry was shut down for 10 weeks.

The gelded son of Street Boss hit the line well last start and did enough to suggest he should be hard to beat in this assignment.

The most interesting of his six runners on the program is Military Law that makes his Tasmanian debut in race three, a maiden over 1100 metres.

Military Law was placed second at his past two starts in South Australia where he was trained at Morphettville by Travis Doudle, who has been training in his own right for the past six years.

Doudle says Military Law is well placed in Tasmania.

“The horse does nothing wrong and he relishes wet tracks, so he could do well in those conditions in Tassie,” Doudle said.

“He is very sound and the only reason he was moved on was because he probably wasn’t going to make the grade in better races down the track.”

Military Law has drawn gate six in a field of 10 and will be ridden by Ismail Toker.

Luttrell’s mare Uncovered has been working up to another win and she gets her chance to notch her fourth career win in race 5, a benchmark 60 handicap over 1400m.

The mare has not been far away of late, with her latest effort an encouraging fourth to Up Wind in Devonport over 1880m late last month.

Tilltherewarsyou has had two starts this time in for encouraging minor placings and while she comes up against a strong field in the Tasbred 4YO Stakes over 1200m, there has been a lot to like about her two starts this time in.

She was a close-up second to Loki Patera in Devonport and then she finished third to Lady Joker at her most recent outing in a 0-60 handicap over 1200m in Launceston just under two weeks ago.

Luttrell’s gallant sprinter Westerly Haze lines up as top weight in a benchmark 60 handicap over 1100m and while he has a lot of weight (61kg with 3kg claim for Peter Lui), the gelded son of West Quest is no stranger to lugging big weights.

Westerly Haze has a terrific second-up record of three wins and a couple of minor placings from eight preps.

His last runner for the night is Perfect Award in the benchmark 74 handicap over 1200m and she comes off a last-start second to I Remember You in Launceston in a similar quality race over 1220m.

Of Luttrell’s team, Westerly Haze and Perfect Award loom as the stable’s best but there is a big watch on Military Law in race three.
