WELL bred filly Gee Gees Top Notch signaled she could be a force in some of the feature two-year-old races later in the season with a courageous win in the Raine & Horne Eastern Shore Hcp over 900 metres at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart today.

The John Luttrell-trained filly emerged to run on at the top of the straight and engaged in a battle Royale with Siorca (Brendon McCoull) with Luttrell’s filly getting the nod in right on the line to score by a short half-head.

Gee Gees Top Notch (Wordsmith-Himstedt) was bred by her owners Paul and Elizabeth Geard.

Geegees Double Jo ran on fairly for third after being caught three-wide for much of the trip while race leader Marie Clare battled away to finish fourth ahead of Geegees Gran Lodge.

Listen to what apprentice Rhonda Mangan had to say about Ghee Gees Top Notch’s win.
