POPULAR Victorian jockey Jason Lyon made a welcome return to riding in Tasmania last week after spending almost eight months out of the saddle through a back injury.
Lyon was well placed on the Tasmanian jockeys premiership last season and was looking forward to another good year before being diagnosed with a collapsed disc.
He returned to race riding at Kyneton last Sunday week and continued with three rides in Launceston last Wednesday night and he had five rides in Hobart yesterday (Sunday) with his best results seconds aboard the John Luttrell-trained pair Our Lucky Girl in the Benchmark 72 handicap and Geegees Velvet in Benchmark 82 Handicap over 1400m.
