IN FORM greyhound Mackie Slater continued on his winning way in Hobart on Thursday night and equalled the 340-metre track record in the process.

Mackie Slater flew the lids from box three and led by three lengths into the home straight and stretched that margin on the line to finish well clear of Winky Siyan and Cool’s Son.

The son of Slater stopped the clock at 19.48 to equal Butterworth’s record that he set in December last year.

It was the Richard Hall-trained dog’s fifth win in succession and his sixth victory from only seven starts. He was placed third at his second outing in a grade five at Devonport.

Mackie Slater debuted in February with a juvenile win at Devonport followed by a minor placing at the same venue in a grade five.

But since then he’s been on a wining spree, notching effortless victories over the short trips in Launceston and Hobart.
