GREG MANSFIELD has long been regarded as one of the most professional racing writers in Tasmania with his talent well recognised in the past year with his induction into the Tasmanian Racing Hall of Fame and the Tasmanian Turf Club’s version of the same.
So it came as no surprise that Harness Racing Australia opted to recognise his contribution to the standardbred code by awarding him the Joseph Coulter Media Award for his service to the industry.
Mansfield has been the chief racing writer for the Examiner Newspaper for the past 35 years during which time he has covered all three codes of racing.
The HRA award was a fitting acknowledgement for Mansfield who has built a reputation as a writer with the ability to dig deep for the hard news story and always delivers a yarn that is balanced and factual.
He is passionate about his chosen profession and openly admits to being a horse racing tragic.
