THERE is no doubt Mason Pines has struck a purple patch of form .

Mason Pines made it back-to-back wins when he powered his way to an effortless victory in a grade five event over 461 metres in Hobart last Thursday night.

That followed an equally impressive win in Launceston against grade four rivals over 515 metres 10 days earlier.

The Anthony Bullock-trained dog, owned by former Tassie bookmaker Kevin Tolputt, was backed off the map to start the $1.60 favourite and gave nothing else a chance once he found the front nearing the top turn.

He went on to score comfortably from Alaskan Prince and High Sierra that flashed home to edge out race leader Enfield Flame for the minor prize.

Mason Pines h as won two and been placed six times from his past eight starts with career statistics of five wins and 14 minor prizes from 32 starts for almost $14,000 in stakes.
