FINDING best bets on the card at The TOTE Racing Centre in Launceston tonight won’t be easy but the first and last races on the nine-event card could prove profitable.
Broadmarsh trainer Brendan McShane will saddle up promising two-year-old Keep The Cash (Keep The Faith – Dash Cash) that debuted with an impressive win at Tattersall’s Park on Hobart Cup day (February 12), after which he was sent for a two-week spell.
On debut he settled back on the fence but when Dwayne Dunn eased him off the fence to challenge he quickly drew to the leaders and went on to win convincingly.
“We were very impressed with his debut win but we almost scratched him on race day,” McShane said.
“He had struck his fetlock leading up to the race and it wasn’t until about an hour before we left for the races that we decided to run him,” he said.
In the last race Wallis and Beven Heights should fight it out with Wallis, a last-start winner in Hobart nine days ago likely to start favourite and prove hard to beat.
