GREYHOUND trainer Ted Medhurst expects his talented sprinter Get It Right to keep on winning following her impressive victory in the Tasmanian Country Oaks at Devonport yesterday.
Get It Right began well from box two to settle second behind kennel mate Miss Pisces but when the leader drifted up the track turning for home Get It Right ($12) hugged the rail and went on to defeat Miss Pisces ($5.50) by almost six lengths with the well backed Immortal Dream ($6.50) over three lengths away third.
Medhurst said Get It Right showed great potential early on but had lost confidence following an incident in a heat of the Group 1 Hobart Thousand series in December last year.
“This bitch was racing really well and I thought enough of her to tackle the Hobart Thousand and she went into a heat in top form but she copped a bad check and fell,” Medhurst said.
“It took her a while to recover and she had over three months off racing.”
“She has just started to get back to where she was before the Hobart Thousand and if she keeps racing in this form I am sure there are more feature race wins ahead of her,” he said.
Get It Right has had 24 starts for 10 wins and five minor placings for just over $20,000 in stakes.
