Lillycette trained by Ted Medhurst is the dog to beat in the Greg Fahey Mid Distance Championship Final (R7) at UBET Park tonight. In her heat this daughter of Velocette ran the quickest covering the 599m in 34.21 while beating her opposition by over ten lengths. She loves the spacious Hobart circuit with five wins and a second from six starts and deserves to start favourite from box three.
Her main opposition will come from the other heat winner Howzat Grace trained by Neville Allison who ran 34.42 in her heat and if she can find the lead early will be hard to run down. Cosmic Fire and Miss Somebody look best for the multiples.
Runner up last week Long View Belle (R9) for Graeme Moate lost a length at the start which allowed eventual winner Howzat Patsy to sneak away. This daughter Fear Zafonic won well on debut and should be very hard to hold out here. Work It and Locknane Abby look her main opponents.
Breaker’s Tip (R6) should continue on his winning way jumping from box seven. Trained by Gary Fahey he exploded back to form after injury at his last start at Devonport and a repeat of that run would see him have back to back victories.
