Millie Minor (R4) should steer herself back on track tonight in the first heat of the Betfair Young Star Classic.

Trained at Mangalore by Mick Stringer this daughter of Where’s Pedro has been struggling for a clear run in her last three since winning here in a slashing 26.17 in early July.

She has only had a handful of starts and is still maturing so jumping from the pink tonight should help her stay out of trouble early and with her current prepost odds of $4 she should be very good value.

Her brother Pak and Wrap will be her toughest opposition while kennelmate Director and Alison Walker’s Fair Go should be included in the multiples.

Zorro’s Legacy for Ted Medhurst looks hard to beat in the second heat albeit jumping from four.

His best time of 26.04 clearly signifies what a terrific pup he is but he is still maturing so if he doesn’t lead he can make some bad decisions in running.

The in form Captain Cosmic and Colossal Fantasy will be waiting for any mistakes.

Canadian Bay (R7) should be an anchor in the double and quadrella.

Best Bets: R4 No 8 Millie Minor, R5 No 4 Zorro’s Legacy, R9 No 7 Sonorous.

Best E/W: R1 No 7 Dazzling Blue, R6 No 6 Rose Gold, R8 No 8 Speed Direct.
