IF there was a consistency award up for grabs in Tasmania then gallant bitch Innisfree Miss would own the title.

Innisfree Miss notched her seventh career win and her fifth on the Hobart track tonight (Thursday) and while it was again to the chagrin of most punters it came as no surprise to those who have stuck by her.

The Debbie Cannan-trained bitch was up against a strong invitation class line-up over 461 metres including her more high-profiled kennel mate Mojito and quality sprinter Decembrist that has won 24 of which 15 have been in Tasmania.

But it was the lesser light that shone, leading all the way to take her career stats to seven wins and 13 minor placings from 27 starts.

The big money came for Mojito (8) and when he lobbed second and in hot pursuit of Innisfree Miss betting in the run would have had Mojito log odds-on to emerge victorious.

But Innisfree Miss again showed her courage and she refused to wilt in the home straight and went on to defeat her more fancied kennel mate by over a length with Bit Regal a closing third.

If Mojito is being touted as a potential Hobart Thousand candidate then Innisfree Miss has to be put in the same category.

Decembrist was in the action early settling fourth but when he was checked and spat out the back he spent the rest of the race going around for the practice and will live to fight another day.
