CO-TRAINER Scott Brunton was pleased last Sunday’s meeting in Hobart was postponed and it showed on his face when his lightly raced mare Miss Slick scored an impressive win in a maiden over 1200 metres at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart today (Wednesday).

Miss Slick Adam-Always Slick) was placed fourth in a race in Launceston last Thursday night with the intention of backing her up on Sunday but a wet track would have been unsuitable so she was scratched from that card.

But when the meeting was postponed and all scratchings reinstated Miss Slick earned her chance to lose her maiden status.

With Brendon McCoull aboard the mare tracked the leader Gee Gee’s Dash to the home turn and when McCoull asked her for the ultimate effort she responded and went on to score from race favourite Certain Shine with Gee Gees Dash hanging on for third ahead of the fast-finishing Danny Dazzler.
