HELLYEAH MISSILE chose the right time to break his maiden status by scoring an emphatic win in a division three heat of the GOTBAT series in Hobart last week.
The Anthony Bullock-trained dog began well from box three and had the lead soon after the start.
He increased the margin at the home turn and gave nothing else a chance in the run to the line scoring by almost five lengths from Burma Roo with Key To Enfield over seven lengths away third.
Hellyeah Missile clocked 26.20 and would only need to hold that form to be the ne to beat in the final.
Acting Up from the Russell Watts kennel held on to win his heat after leading by four lengths turning for home.
Acting Up hit the line a head clear of Mauboy that spotted the winner five lengths rounding the home turn.
The winner stopped the clock at 26.38 but Mauboy was clearly the run of the race.
Sober Moment won the remaining division three heat in what was an action-packed event.
The Russell Watts-trained dog began only fairly from box four and settled just beyond midfield heading to the top turn.
But a mix-up nearing the home turn that resulted in a clash between Hellyeah Bolt and Foxy Fours that was about to assume control, resulted in Fox Fours falling heavily and that caused a chain reaction back through the field,.
While all this was happening Sober Moment avoided the interference and went on to win by three lengths from Enfield Kell with his litter sister Enfield magic about the same margin away third.
