THE owners of well related pacer Bettors Express heaved a sigh of relief when he finally delivered the goods in a three-year-old race over 1955 metres at Scottsdale last Friday.
With his trainer Christian Salter in the sulky the gelded son of Bettors Delight-New York Maid stepped cleanly from the standing start to lead ands he was never headed on his way to a comfortable win over Publican Pete.
Bettors Express is a half-brother to New York Fella and Fleet Express that was a two-times Tasmanian Horse of the Year and winner of 39 races including multiple features and a best mile rate of 1m.58s.
While Bettors Express has a long way to emulate his half-brother Salter says the gelding is progressing nicely and expects him to win more races.
