KAROOLA trainer Dick Eaves is confident the win by well-bred mare Silver Tail Lass won’t be her last while she is in his care.
Silver Tail Lass (Peruvian Hanover-Island Cocktail) joined the Eave s stable about two months ago and at her fourth start for her new stable she scored an impressive win in the Raiders Own Stakes (3YO and Older Non-Winners) over 2090 metres at Tattersall’s Park in Hobart on Sunday night.
Amys Angel was able to make the most of the pole position and retain the lead while Silver Tail Lass’s driver Ricky Duggan waited until his charge was well balanced before surging forward to face the breeze.
Duggan waited until the bell before urging Silver Tail Lass forward and when she joined the leader turning out of the back straight the last time and forged to the front it was all over bar the shouting.
Silver Tail Lass went on to score clearly from Makin Waves Lombo and Top memories that was held up behind the leader that started to feel the pinch 500 metres out.
